Assistant Head of Fundraising
Set in a beautiful Yorkshire valley, Ampleforth College is the world’s foremost Catholic boarding school, welcoming girls and boys of all faiths aged 11-18. Each student’s unique talents are recognised and nurtured within a welcoming community rooted in Benedictine values. The College has seen a marked increase in philanthropic support for its mission in recent years and has a highly engaged alumni and parent community.
We have an exciting new opportunity within our Development & Alumni Relations team for a motivated fundraiser to focus on growing our philanthropic income; independently managing a prospect pool of 100–150 individuals to increase the volume of mid-level and major gifts through new donor acquisition. The Assistant Head of Fundraising will work with the Head of Development to devise and implement activities that will quickly deliver increased fundraising income, undertaking a schedule of meetings around the UK to secure gifts in support of the College’s bursary funds and Endowments, as well as raising funds for Capital campaigns.
This role requires a driven individual who thrives on working to targets. They will be passionate about how their role impacts the College’s ability to offer busaries to talented students who would benefit from an Ampleforth education and a Compass for Life.
Alongside working closely within the Development & Alumni Relations team, they will be expert at identifying, cultivating and maintaining relationships with donors and internal stakeholders.
An understanding of and empathy for Independent School Education and the Catholic faith are essential for success in this role.
A current driving licence is essential so that travel to visit donors is possible. Whilst some time must be spent at Ampleforth every month, meeting potential donors is the priority, and we are happy to accept applications from individuals based in London and the South of England.
We offer a great benefits package, which includes:
-
A friendly and supportive working environment
-
Annual closed periods between Christmas and New Year
-
Meals with a variety of hot and cold options during working hours
-
