Book a Visit
Individual visits allow a good insight into our community and the beautiful valley in which we live, work and study. You can book your visit now by completing the form at the bottom of the page.
Families are welcomed by the Admissions Team before having a tour of the School, including time with a Housemistress or Housemaster and other members of staff by arrangement. We encourage families to stay for lunch, which often means joining a House lunch with pupils and staff, which can be one of the most interesting and enlightening parts of the day.
To ensure your visit is as meaningful and informative as possible, please take the time prior to visiting to give us details about your child's interests, areas of strength and of challenge in your conversations with our Admissions Team. This way, we can tailor your visit to include meetings with particular members of staff, such as the Directors of Music or Sport for example, or to discuss scholarships or bursaries.
If the visit goes well, and you wish to continue to find out more, we request that you register with Ampleforth College at this stage. By registering you are guaranteed consideration of a place, and we will keep you up-to-date with the latest information, key dates in the Admissions calendar, updates on events and news from School. A non-refundable administration fee of £100 is required to register.
At all times, the Admissions team is available by email admissions@ampleforth.org.uk or phone 01439 741081 to guide you through individual applications, answer any general queries, and put you in touch with the right staff to answer specific questions about particular subjects.
Ampleforth is a special place, far from the academic hot houses that so many schools seem to have become – it doesn’t leave anyone behind. We have seen such a positive and trusting approach; relying on inspiration, self-discipline and self-motivation to help students find an area in which to excel. I cannot stress how rare and significant we consider that approach to be.
