Curriculum
Our curriculum is designed to provide a broad and balanced education offering a wide range of subjects, from Greek to Psychology, Drama to Computing, in a nurturing environment.
Through teaching personalised to each pupil in the class, and using an array of different learning methods, we aim to provide an inspiring experience for all our pupils which challenges, stretches, and encourages a love of independent learning.
We provide an enormous wealth of opportunities for pupils to develop their talents and interests, their skills and aptitudes both inside and outside of the classroom. Our programme of academic enrichment includes academically focused trips and visits, to universities, lectures, plays, and workshops outside of school, engagement in external competitions, and by inviting in a wide range of speakers. Cultural activity, including sport, music, art, and drama, is an important part of our offer and pupils have extensive opportunities to participate to a high level.
Ampleforth offers 22 GCSE subjects and 23 A level options, plus 4 vocational BTEC courses in the Sixth Form.
The curriculum is ambitious from Year 7 to Year 13
